Complimentary Fitness Services
The staff at Loyola Center for Fitness is dedicated to helping you start and maintain your fitness program. The following services are designed to provide you with the tools that you will need to get started when you become a member.
Personal Fitness Orientation
The Personal Fitness Orientation (PFO) is a free service designed to help you become more familiar with the fitness equipment, design a new program or change your current routine.
- Free 30-minute session with a LCF Fitness Specialist.
- This service is unlimited during your membership.
- The PFO is not a personal training session but an individualized session to answer questions and demonstrate exercises to help you reach your goals.
- The PFO is designed as a teaching and informational session and does not involve a complete workout session.
- A PFO can be requested by completing a Personal Fitness Orientation request form at the Member Service Desk.
- A Fitness Specialist will call you to schedule your PFO.
Personal Fitness Profile and Consultation
The personal fitness profile and consultation (PFPC) is an assessment of your current fitness levels.
PFPC is free to all new members within the first 30 days of membership. The PFPC consists of two sessions with a Fitness Specialist. The first session will consist of:
- Height and weight
- Body composition by skin measurements
- Circumference measurements
- Resting and exercise heart rates
- Blood pressure
- Sub-maximal bike or treadmill test
- Muscular Strength
- Muscular endurance
- Cholesterol & Glucose Screening
- Flexibility
- Discussion of your personal goals and exercise history
The second session will consist of:
- Review of your results
- Consultation and individualized exercise program
To request a PFPC, please complete a request form and a health history questionnaire form at the Member Service Desk.
Focus on Fitness
Focus on Fitness is a free service designed to keep you motivated!
- A Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer will keep you accountable to your chosen goal and provide you with motivation.
- A Fitness Specialist will communicate with you regularly to make sure you are staying on track.
- We recommend the use of exercise cards to track your progress.

Terrified of Water
Terrified of water is a program designed to help individuals become more comfortable in water. Terrified of water is different from swim lessons because it introduces individuals to the water and how to stay comfortable in the water. To register for a Terrified of Water session, please visit the Member Service Desk.
