I have been with Loyola Center for Fitness for just over four years. I started off as a Personal Trainer/ Fitness Specialist and moved up to Center Director. My goal is to give each and every member the ultimate experience each day they use the center. I thrive to make customer service my number one priority and will do everything I can to help each and every member succeed in their health and fitness goals.
I have been the Facility Engineer here at The Center for Fitness for since 2000. My responsibilities extend from all issues concerning the structure, to the laundry team and the overnight cleaning crew. I have found this to be a wonderful place to work. I enjoy the light hearted banter between us; it helps keep me on my toes. I look forward to working many more years here serving the members.
Our certified and degreed fitness staff is there to make sure that every member receives an individualized, unique experience. Whether you are just getting started, have an occasional question, or need more hands-on assistance, our facility has something to offer everyone. In addition to personal training, we are excited to offer a continuum of care with our medically integrated Next Steps programs for those managing a chronic condition or who may need more support with their exercise program. We also offer swim lessons, nutritional counseling, and wellness coaching. As Fitness Manager, it is my job to ensure that our members are completely satisfied with all of our fitness services. I have been in the fitness industry since 1997. I joined the Loyola Center for Fitness team in 2008. Providing excellent customer service to members and guests is my number one goal. As medical integration coordinator my focus is to help individuals benefit from our medically based fitness programs, and nutrition and wellness coaching services. These programs provide the continuum of care which is a bridge from a clinical setting to our fitness center.
I have been LCF’s Food Service manager for more than fourteen years. I earned a certificate in Food Service Management from Richard J. Daley College and have more than 30 years of experience in the industry. In overseeing the café at Loyola, I strive to bring healthy and appetizing fare to our members and guests. I take great pride in the quality of our offerings, and am always open to suggestions to expand our menu.
My goal is to bring my passion of health, wellness, and fitness to my client’s everyday through education and motivation. I aim to challenge my clients to help them discover their full fitness potential, keep their workout fun, and help them overcome any obstacles, mental or physical, that may stand in their way. I hope to teach the importance of what doing even a little activity everyday can do for the body and the mind. I also oversee the Special Programs Department and love to see the bond that people make working together in class - people inspire, motivate, and hold each other accountable all for the goal of being healthy. I hope to help our members see that they can get out of their comfort zone and into one of our classes, we have something for everyone!
Working my way up from initially a Fitness intern, to a fitness Specialist and now PT Coordinator and manager on duty I have learned a lot about health, fitness and customer service. My personal mission statement is to live day by day and to try and give my best to everyone I come across; and this is a statement that I try to pass on to my clients. Over the years I have worked with (in personal training) a wide range of clients from weight loss goals, exercise post cancer treatment, building strength and endurance up after injuries and I find that so much joy comes to my life because of my work on the fitness floor. I spend some of my time here on the spin bike teaching classes because I love to practice what I preach. I also have taken on the role of Intern Coordinator and I love sharing my knowledge of fitness with the up and coming generation. I feel that LCF is the best learning environment for students that are interested in this field. I am so lucky that I have found a place to come to every day and not feel like it’s “just a job”. LCF is the best place to be for anyone trying to improve themselves and/or maintain a healthy lifestyle. From the well trained and encouraging fitness staff, to the welcoming and accommodating front desk staff, this is the place to be if you are looking for a positive environment to exercise.
I love group fitness classes and there’s no better place to teach them and take them than Loyola Center for Fitness! We have something for everyone. All of our instructors are trained and certified to meet the needs of all of our members. We are here to provide safe, effective, and motivating classes that will challenge you to meet your fitness goals and inspire you to keep coming back for more. I not only manage the group exercise department, I also teach Aqua, Spinning, Group Active, Body Shred, and Tabata classes. For me as an instructor and the Group Exercise Coordinator, there is nothing better than witnessing a group of our members working out together, sweating, smiling and having fun in the studios or the pool!
I have been employed at Loyola Center for Fitness since 2008. I started as a Member Service Representative where I learned countless members' names and stories. I aimed to provide top notch customer service and greet everyone with a friendly smile. I worked my way up to Sales Representative and focused on bringing in new members for the next 4 years. Building a strong rapport with prospects and members was always important to me so each person knew they are an individual- not a number. I've most recently moved up to the Center's Administrative Accounting Coordinator. Now my main responsibilities are based behind-the-scenes. I handle the Center's finances, organize staff matters, and make sure our members' billing matters are in order. No matter what position I hold at LCF, you will still spot me working out on the fitness floor or participating in a group exercise class when I'm off the clock! I believe everyone needs to make time to focus on their physical and mental health.
