The staff at Loyola Center for Fitness is dedicated to helping you start and maintain your fitness program. The following services are designed to provide you with the tools that you will need to get started when you become a member.
A Equipment Orientation (EO) is a free service offered to our members by the fitness specialists. The EO consists of meeting with a Fitness Specialist about your personal goals and what you want in a fitness routine. After meeting with you, that Fitness Specialist will create a fitness program that fits your needs and wants. Whether your goal is weight loss, improved endurance, flexibility, or training for an event, the Fitness Specialist will provide you the tools to reach those goals! They can provide you a routine using weight machines, free weights, exercise bands, the pool or even the cardio equipment. After a few weeks of trying your new routine, your Fitness Specialist will periodically follow-up with you to make sure that your workouts are going well and check to see if your routine needs adjustments!
The goal of the initial fitness assessment is to help you feel comfortable in the center using the equipment on your own. The EO is suitable for beginners and advanced exercise enthusiasts. For beginners, the EO will help you begin a routine that will jump start your health and fitness with the basics. For advanced exercisers, the EO can bring your workout to the next level, by introducing you to new exercises and equipment that you wouldn’t usually use. Fill out a Equipment Orientation Request Form at the front desk and the fitness staff will call you to schedule your EO.
The General Fitness Assessment (GFA) is a free service offered by the fitness team. A GFA is a great way to determine your fitness baseline and to watch your progression as you continue towards your goals. After your initial assessment, you will have the opportunity to have a reassessment every 6 months after that date. This is to see how you have progressed towards your goals and allows you to see the change in your results!
You will schedule an appointment, for another day, with the Fitness Specialist who did your assessment to go over your results in full detail. They will then provide you with a fitness program fit to your needs that will help you achieve your goals.
**Please see an LCF Fitness Specialist if you have any questions or concerns about the General Fitness Assessment.**
