Wednesday, September 27 is National Women’s Health and Fitness Day. This is the nation’s largest national health promotion for women of all ages that occurs every year on the last Wednesday in September. The goal of this event is to encourage women to take control of their health and learn the facts they need to make smart health choices and time for regular physical activity.
“Our goal for this national event is to encourage women to take control of their health: to learn the facts they need to make smart health choices, and to make time for regular physical activity,” adds Patricia Henze, Executive Director of the Health Information Resource Centersm, organizer of the event (Henze, 2017).
Women have unique health and fitness needs for staying in shape, losing weight and improving their overall health. Our fitness specialists at the Center can help you create a custom plan according to your fitness level. In addition, we have special programs and exercise classes available to teach women how to take the best care of themselves.
